Most all laptop vendors have supported POST 80 from ISA and PCI slot since the inception of the laptop novelty, long before they introduced POST 80 codes into the printer port. Generally your looking at a time frame of laptops now-a-days only about one year old that support this new feature of being able to give you diagnostic information in the form of POST 80 from the printer port. If your DC-02A or DC-02X card shows you a "00" on boot up, then your laptop is not sending POST 80 information to the printer port.
If your laptop is older than one year old, your stuck using the MINI-PCI method.
Which involves opening the laptop case. For obvious reasons the laptop vendors
seen a need to include POST 80 codes out the printer port but it's newer technology
is not support in most all older laptops.
You can still use this card as a MTBF or BURN-IN using
the printer port for any PC or Laptop.

Operations:
This card is use to troubleshoot your motherboard problems. Sometimes
your computer will not boot. Use this diagnostic card to see the POST (power
on self test) codes that the BIOS commands the motherboard to perform. Each
motherboard has a BIOS which the device that initializes all hardware components
on the motherboard such as CPU, Memory, Video card. During the boot up sequence,
your BIOS will also generate what is called POST80 codes. Each code can be referenced
in a manual supplied to help determines the problem with the motherboard.
In most cases, where the LAST POST CODE is displayed on the POST card is generally the problem area. For example: If you have an Award Bios on your motherboard, and you install this card. Turn on the power to your computer. Your computer stops booting, but the POST CARD shows a code of "01". This could mean you have a faulty CPU on your motherboard because the BIOS told the CPU to start, but the CPU did not respond. If a piece of hardware does not respond during a boot sequence, then the motherboard will not finish POSTing.
